A weekend away to the Misty Mountains on the Atherton Tablelands proved to be a memorable occasion for both Lyle and Monica. After trying to ‘relax’ during his massage Lyle invited Monica out on to the scenic balcony and produced a stunning Irish Claddagh diamond ring from his robe. Needless to say she accepted straight away.
Fast forward 14 months and the day had finally arrived where they could celebrate with both their family and friends. The ceremony was held at St Martin’s Church, Cannonvale with about 120 guests. The ceremony was conducted by Monica’s Uncle Dan, who is a Colomban Priest who has worked in Santiago, Chile for twenty years as a Missionary Priest. He had also married Monica’s two sisters and brother. Lyle’ family had travelled from near and far and were extremely excited to see this union.
A short walk across the main road leading into Airlie Beach and the real fun was about to start. The happiness which was captured in the photos was something to behold! Happiness was definitely the theme for their wedding with a mixture of colourful bunting, lanterns and lights, flowers, dancing shoes (thongs) and couches. The band, guest book, fill in the blanks activity scrolls and speeches were all perfect and helped make Monica and Lyle’s special day something which will not be forgotten anytime soon.
