Your Love Story

Chris and I met at Vision PT in Sydney where we both worked at personal trainers.

The Proposal

It was in Hawaii – I know, WOW! It was day 3 of our holiday, we had been driving around the island all day looking at volcanoes, waterfalls…the usual ha-ha. After dinner Chris suggested a walk around the resort. We found this cute little rotunda, and I decided to re-enact the scene from The Sound of Music. (I’m known for spontaneous singing and dancing so it wasn’t a surprise to him). He then suggested we take a picture, so I was looking around for the perfect lighting and when I turned around he was down on one knee. I was speechless for maybe the second time in my life…but eventually said yes.

It was perfect!

Honeymoon Heaven

We actually took all of our guests to Whitehaven beach the day after our wedding; so we could show off the beautiful Whitsundays. Then straight back to work in Melbourne!

Hens and Bucks

Our bridesmaids and groomsmen came to Melbourne for a long weekend. The girls did a wine tour and massages, while the boys did beers and burgers ha-ha.

Splurge Vs Save

Our wedding budget was $40,000.

Our Whitehaven trip was a big spend, along with surprise fireworks. We saved $ by doing the candy bar and table decorations ourselves.

Whitsunday Wedding Venue

I always wanted to get married in my hometown & what a perfect location it is!

Wedding Day Vision

Disney! Our whole wedding was a fairy tale; from my dress to the music selection and of course the décor.

DIY Details

The wooden candy bar and table centrepieces were made by my Dad.

Funniest Moment

Seeing Chris’s face when I surprised him with Bagpipes at the ceremony. (His favourite movie is Braveheart). Second to that would be my Dad’s Father of the Bride speech; read by my Mum because Dad had laryngitis!

Remarkable Memories

EVERYTHING! I literally wouldn’t change a thing.

Supplier Shout Outs

So many people made our day perfect with memories to last a lifetime; Kate & Pablo from Th3rd Dimension for our videography, Deb from Tropix for our photography, and the staff at Lure & Hemingways for pre drinks, canapés and reception.

A big thank you to Sax Hair and The Beauty Room for making my girls and I look extra special for the big day. Thank you also to The Flower Hut and DJ Cam (LA Entertainment) and Baked Creations.
