Your Love Story
Darrin and I both met one another when I was 15 and he was 18 through mutual friends at the time, however we just remained as friends. We actually lost contact a few years later and hadn’t spoken for some time but one night we had seen one another at a friend’s place and from then we hit it off, speaking daily and within months of having contact again we become very close and started falling for one another. 4.5 years on & we’ve had the most amazing time spent with each other, had a beautiful daughter and built some beautiful memories that will forever be cherished.
The proposal was much unexpected, Darrin had planned a nice night out to a restaurant along the harbour but it didn’t quite go to plan and we never ended up going to dinner. This particular night we ended up getting take out (which we got sick from) that same night we were lying in bed about to go to sleep and darrin bounced up onto one knee on the bed in his undies and come out with, babe will you marry me? Of course I said YES!!!
Whitsunday Wedding Venue
I had always wanted a destination wedding but had always thought of doing a wedding overseas, but the moment I found the website for Weddings in the Whitsundays I just knew this was the place for us and we booked it straight away. I hadn’t been to the Whitsundays before and was planning on a trip there to take a look and see where our wedding would be held but I was heavily pregnant and couldn’t fly so I had to trust it was as beautiful as it looked online. And I can tell you that the pictures you see on the website/or anywhere are exactly what you see in person, it’s stunning!!
Wedding Day Vision
Definitely coastal waterfront! I had to have the nice crisp white with greenery, a lot of floral with king proteas. It went perfect with our bridesmaids and groomsmen attire and location. The groomsmen wore navy blue chino suit style pants, white shirts with vests, and the bridesmaids had long navy blue dresses.
Brides Wisdom
The best advice I got and I can give to other brides is to relax, stay calm and most importantly just enjoy every single moment of your beautiful day.
Honeymoon Heaven
We decided to have our honeymoon in the Whitsundays and explore the beautiful region.
Funniest Moment
My funniest moment would have had to of been when we were saying our vows, I was actually caught up in the moment that I forgot what I was saying and had to ask Annie to repeat what it was ha-ha.
Special Memory
Definitely seeing my gorgeous daughter in her flower girl dress for the first time and walking down and seeing my man at the alter seeing his facial expression.
